How to Choose a Snap Gauge
A snap gauge checks an external diameter against GO and NOT-GO limits. Choosing one comes down to the size of the part and how it will be used.
Single-end progressive
One opening with GO and NOT-GO set in sequence, so the part passes the GO limit and stops at the NOT-GO limit. Accusize makes these from Ø3 to 160 mm.
Double-ended, separate GO and NOT-GO
A GO end and a NOT-GO end on one tool, from Ø3 to 100 mm.
Double-ended I-type
A larger frame for bigger parts, from Ø100 to 300 mm.
